Youth Learn to Ride- Is your child struggling to learn how to ride their bike? Through step by step, engaging activities Heather will help them with their cycling. Personalized instruction will help overcome fears, teach important skills; such as starting and stopping, and help your child understand how to maneuver their bike around obstacles. Heather’s fun, unique and proven instruction methods have helped many kids experience the joy of riding a bike. A properly fitted bike is essential for your child's comfort and safety. Students should arrive with their own bike with the training wheels removed. They should be able to sit on the seat with their feet flat on the ground. This class is for children 5 - 11 years old. Bike Skills 101/ Adult Learn to Ride- These classes are for adults or teens who have either not yet learned how to ride a bike, or learned a long time ago but want a refresher on the basics of balancing, pedaling and steering. Heathers friendly and patient, and will help you get off to a great start in a secure, non-judgmental environment. A working bicycle and helmet are required in order to participate in this class. 90 minutes, Fee- $69. Introduction to Mountain Biking- Experience the thrill of mountain biking! You'll practice various riding techniques, including body and pedal position, shifting, braking, climbing, descending, and navigating minor obstacles on the trail. Then we will practice all these new skills on a beginner friendly trail ride! Recommended for those 10 and older. This class is for those who are already comfortable riding a bike on flat and even terrain. A working bicycle and helmet are required in order to participate in this class. 90 minutes, Fee- $69. Mountain Biking Skills- Heather will provide detailed breakdowns of riding skills along with a progression of drills to help you improve your performance. Specific topics include braking, climbing and descending, tight turns and cornering, and wheel lifts. Bringing your own well-tuned bike is highly-recommended for skills retention after the class. This course is intended for experienced riders with at least a season of off-road riding experience. Recommended for those 16 and older. 90 minutes, Fee- $69. Woman’s Introduction to Road Cycling- Brush up on your skills or learn the basics in this all women's class. Heather will start by addressing proper bike fit and making any necessary adjustments to your bike. The class will feature a demonstration of riding techniques, including proper body position, shifting, braking, efficient hill climbing and safe descending. She will also go over important communication skills and how to read the road for safety. Then it's off for a ride to practice what you have learned. This class is great for women new to riding or looking for a refresher, and is an opportunity to learn in an inclusive environment and meet other female riders. Please bring your helmet and proper riding apparel. Recommended for those 16 and older. No rider will be left behind! Group Size limited to 6. Fee- $69.
